If keeping your pet is absolutely not an option, we appreciate you doing the right thing by reaching out to us. We have the experience to help you — and your dog — through this.
Contact Us About SurrenderWe know that surrendering a pet is one of the hardest decisions you'll ever make. The most important thing you can do is make sure your dog ends up somewhere safe — and we can help with that.
Even well-intentioned family members and friends may not be appropriate long-term homes. Your dog could end up being passed from person to person through the homeless dog system — ultimately ending up on the street, or in a dangerous situation, through no fault of their own.
Responsibly placing your pet through us or another reputable dachshund rescue is the right thing to do, even if it takes some time and extra effort on your part. Your dog deserves a carefully vetted forever home, not a rushed handoff.
We have a limited number of foster families — homes just like yours, with working parents, kids, multiple dogs, and life happening at all times. We do our best to find space for every dog who needs us.
If holding your dog is not an option and you must surrender your dachshund, please contact us as soon as possible so we can work together on a plan.
